He tells him to imagine their ranch and then he shoots him in the back of the head.
Critique
Of MIce and Men was a rather short book. Overall I liked the book and i don't have any real complaints. It was short and sweet and to the point, just the way I like it. I think the book was humorous at times with Lennie, a grown man, wanting to tend rabbits and pet a girls hair. I also think the book was really sad at the end when George had to choose between killing his best friend or letting him be tortured.
Quotes
“A guy needs somebody―to be near him. A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he's with you. I tell ya, I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an' he gets sick.” - Crooks- This shows how lonely it is when you are by yourself, and shows why George keeps Lennie with him.
"live off the fatta the lan.'' - George and Lennie- This is what keeps them motivated throughout the story.
Chracter List
George- He looks after Lennie and exhibits the theme of loneliness.
Lennie- Mentally handicapped giant who killed Curley's wife
Curley- The boss's son, lennie kills his wife.
Candy-Old man who is missing a hand, he does simple chores.
Crooks- The black ranch hand that lives out in the barn.
Slim- A respected ranch hand that helps George and Lennie stay out of trouble.
#3. If i were to go to the ranch for a week i would only pack a few things. I would pack 5 pairs of clothes, boots, shoes, gloves, a bar of soap, and a revolver. I would pack light so I wouldn't ruin a lot of stuff and i is easier to travel with.
